PROFESSOR Aaron Benton
1st Degree BLACK BELT
Owner & Head Instructor
Professor Aaron is originally from Orange County, California, where he began his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey in 2009. He trained under Evaldo Lima, a black belt under Royce Gracie and Rodrigo Gracie, and earned his black belt in December 2021. Now a first-degree black belt, Aaron brings over a decade of dedication, experience, and leadership to the academy.
Before committing fully to jiu-jitsu, Aaron served in the United States Navy from 1996 to 2000, stationed in Brunswick, Maine. During his service, he worked on P-3 Orion aircraft and completed three deployments. After leaving the Navy, he built a long and successful career in aviation as both an aircraft mechanic and corporate pilot, a path that ultimately brought him to Texas in 2015.
After relocating to Texas, Aaron became involved in building his own Jiu-Jitsu academy, eventually joining the CJJF Texas team and retiring from aviation to focus entirely on coaching, mentorship, and academy leadership.
Aaron is a devoted husband to Adri, father to a son and daughter and shares their home with three dogs. His approach to jiu-jitsu is practical and disciplined, guided by a simple belief he carries into training and life:
“Whatever the problem, the answer is Jiu Jitsu!”
